Circular Waste & International Development: Innovating Systems in Malawi

Circular Waste & International Development: Innovating Systems in Malawi

Circular Waste & International Development: Innovating Systems in Malawi, East Africa

I will introduce the audience to International Conservation and Clean-up Management (ICCM) as an innovative waste management social enterprise based in Malawi, East Africa. We work on developing sustainable waste management projects in urban and per-urban areas in Malawi.

I will speak about the global problem of poorly managed waste, the reality of where waste goes, and the importance of recycling. Understanding the journey of a product/waste will make informative decisions for municipalities, individuals, communities, businesses, educational institutions, NGOs and policy levels in Malawi, East Africa. Raise awareness on how it is possible to join all existing structures and close the gap between the municipalities and grassroots groups all working in waste.

I will also touch on current waste management challenges in the UK and its link to climate change. As well as in the Malawi context.
